Nat Nelson wasn't really looking for a horse when she found Paradise
Folly, much less a stallion! A good friend found him listed in the
local classifieds and an old boyfriend bought him for her as a gift.
Originally the buckskin stallion was purchased as a riding prospect, but
he was so well behaved Nelson decided to keep him a stallion. Having
no mares, she leased some the first couple of years - with no idea
what kind of impact Paradise Folly was to be on her life.

amateur competition sanctioned by the AQHA and the Arizona Quarter Horse

Nat had to say
goodbye to Blue
His inspiration was
his task to do.
Blue and Nat have
paved the way
Many horses have
them to thank today.
We lift our glasses
in a toast to Blue
Our hearts are heavy
as we do.
He was our champion
of the cause
And now AQHA
has no pause
To register any color
of a good horse,
Because they ARE quarter
horses of course.
Thank you Nat and
thank you Blue
They said what you did,
you wouldn't do.
Blue has crossed the Bridge
and we are sad,
But what you did made
us proud and glad.

Blue
Eyed Paradise was humanly put down 05/09/05 due to complications of colic.
He was my inspiration to
challenge the AQHA regarding the rule that disallowed
his AQHA registration. We won that fight and now all double
dilutes are registerable with the AQHA! Blue
was put onto this earth for a purpose.
- Natalie J. Nelson -
The below note from an
individual who did not know
him really sums it up and touched our hearts:
"So sorry to hear
about the loss of this horse. I never had the chance to really
know who this horse was but I did hear that there was a cremello
stallion who made registering all double dilutes possible with the AQHA,
and I thought how heroic this horse and his owner are for telling the AQHA
they are wrong and how much they needed to let these horses to be
registered, and won! I give you a big thumbs up for this and I'm
sure Blue knows what he has done and is looking down from behind
the clouds of heaven with great pride. He will be watching every
move his babies make and his owner as well who loved him so dear. Sounds
like he had many fans and he and yourself will never be forgotten."
- Charlotte Trahos Bightwood, VA
Another note that
touch my heart strings . . .
"Nat: I'm so
sorry to hear about your loss. He was such a beautiful horse and a great
ambassador for for the cremellos in AQHA. What you did on
his behalf was monumental in the annals of AQHA. Because of him,
you, along with the others behind this change, made it all happen
against great odd. What a legacy he leaves, much more that the great
foals he produced for you. I extend my deepest sympathies to your
family over his loss. He truly earned his place in heaven" -
Jeanne Dial Kingfisher, OK
Another
note that touch my heart strings . . .
"Nat . . . I
can't tell you how very sorry I was to hear about Blue. His
contribution in inspiring you to join the fight to accept the
double dilutes will forever change the AQHA and make him a legend in his own
time. It is always painful when one of your horses dies but it
just seem so much more difficult when you lose one of these special ones.
My heart goes out to you ~GVR~
